Sabina turned 6mths on the 14th of January. No one knows where the last 6mths went. Too quickly, as usual. Maybe it's the knowing what to expect next, maybe it's that we keep forgetting not to blink.
I know that no one in this household can remember life without her. The moment that landed in our lives, beating Emiliano's delivery record, she firmly grabbed all of our hearts and has held them in the palm of her chubby hands. Her brother adores her. He is none too pleased with the arranged marriage, even if it is to the wonderful Miles. He demands to be able to hold her, he gives her kisses and hugs, and instructs us on the best ways to soothe her. She likes to be sung to, and rocked, and tickled, he says. And he's right. Her father is completely wrapped. All The Girl has to do is bat her eyes and he swoops her out of my arms and tickles her, sings her songs, "flies" her around the house, and refuses to give her back. As for me, I am completely in love as well. You always know that you will love all your children, but it always surprises you how much you do. She's given me a whole other appreciation of my son and my husband, as I watch them relate to her. I love them all the more for it, and I love her for bringing this joy into my life. She's my girl.
My Sabina.
Her stats at 6mths: 16lbs 3oz, 26 1/4 inches long.
Her temperament: She's a flirt. She flirts shamelessly with her father and brother. She's gets angry when she is hungry (like her mother and grandmother). She is easy going and sweet. But when she gets mad, it's best to soothe her soon, or there will be no quieting her. She sleeps through the night. She's slept in her crib since she was 4 1/2 months old. She has strong legs and pulls herself up on your lap and will then plop her butt down. She loves that game. She likes to grab things and loves her pink ladybug. She can sit up unassisted, but does still topple over. She hates being on her tummy. She loves music.
And we think she's perfect.
